I do not know why these mp's have donations for internal elections--what they do with monies? have parties and what doners expect from them.It is a different thing for general election where there is a lot of expence.

Congrats to you Micki for at least being able to share YOUR opinions here.
I dont actually agree with your comments but i certainly think you are entitled to have them, after all it is supposedly democracy that is working here.

Unfortunately my comments are obviously not welcome here as my earlier commens have been omitted, so the democracy that is actually allowed here is a very one sided one indeed, i guess it is "Harriets Law" and not true democracy after all.

I think this resignation fiasco has to stop as good men and women are been taken out of jobs they do so well over silly issues that noone ever tries to resolve.
The media make him look like a criminal and yet how else can this system work unless taxpayers agree to.
And it is the public and media's fault for not focusing on substance but rather on show during campaigns.
I bet Hain would have prefered a good long debate then a silly parade and that is the media and the public for been so fickle and moved by looks and appearances.
All those years of service and he is treated like this.
The system needs reforming back to plain old debate and no money spent on smears and ballons and jelly.
Terrible shame and I hope he is back soon.
I don't know why anyone puts themself through it honestly when all you get is stick.

I was rather surprised to find Peter Hain taking money off a former supporter of the South Africa National Party though; it didn't suggest that he was that strong on principles. Let's hope that the police investigation is more robust than the 'cash for honours' one, and that there is some sort of closure on this unpleasant episode.
